Summer Kids Church

For the summer, kids age 0 to 3 continue to meet in the Babbling Brook downstairs. 

Kids in kindergaten and older join the adults in the service. Activity books and sermon notes will be available at the Info Desk.

The River's Jr Youth for Grades 6, 7, 8

Where little ones experience God’s love!

The Babbling Brook is a special area, designed especially for the little people of ROL. Drop off begins at 10:25AM and 1:25PM, immediately before each service. Note: all children’s workers are screened through Alberta Child & Family Services.

Nursery Ages 0&1

The nursery is a safe place for babies and toddlers to explore & play. All children are registered and given a number. This number will appear on the power point screen in the main service if a parent is needed. Parents are paged for children who are not consolable or need a diaper change. There is a special room attached to the nursery for nursing moms.

Preschoolers Age 2&3

The preschool room is a safe place for these strong little personalities to play and be introduced to their loving Father. Play, crafts, snacks, and story time fill the morning. All children are registered and given a number. This number will appear on the power point screen in the main service if a parent is needed. Parents are paged for children who are no consolable or need a diaper change.

Mov'n Up

When your child reaches the age required for the next level program, we encourage you to join your child for the first week, or more, to help ensure they can make the transition. If they do have some troubles adjusting, (which is very common) it might be better for them to remain in the younger program until they are more ready. This is helpful for your child and for the benefit of the program.

Parent Rotation

We strongly encourage all parents to help at least once a month on the parent rotation. This allows you to be a part of your child’s spiritual development at ROL, and is a huge support to the teaching teams. Developing this positive habit begins right from the nursery age on up.

Where following Jesus is a wild ride!

This is where the river really starts flowing! Drop off begins at 10:25AM and 1:25PM, immediately before each service and are located upstairs. All children’s ministry staff are screened through Alberta Child & Family Services.

Class 3 Rapids Ages 4&5

We are so happy to provide this class for little ones to transition between the Babbling Brook to the Raging Rapids. Worship, bible stories, crafts and puppets fill the morning here. Making friends and being well cared for are very important parts of this program.

Class 2 Rapids Grades 1-5

Now the River is getting a little out of control! A host of crazy characters regularly invades this kids church! It could be pirates, secret agents, mad scientists, you just never know. Kids arrive and join their small team where they connect with a leader and make some friends. Together they join the open session for games, worship, Bible lessons and live action stories. Then they return to their room for activities, discussion and prayer with their team.

We strongly encourage all parents to help once a month on the parent rotation to be a part of your child’s spiritual development at ROL.

Div’n into the River!

The Jr Youth are all about diving right into the river. We currently run a Sunday morning program. All Jr Youth workers are screened through Alberta Child & Family Services.

Sunday Morning 10:30 am & 1:30 pm Class 1 Rapids Grades 6, 7 & 8

A youth discipleship class that rotates between activities. Two Sundays/month are youth services with time for worship, teaching, prayer, and small groups. One Sunday is serving in a ministry of choice. One week is an option of choice to develop an area of interest like worship band, sound and tech, art, drama, photography, movie making, etc. Meet in the youth room upstairs. This program begins right at 10:30 or 1:30 - there is no announced dismissal. Grade 9’s are welcome to participate for another year. 

Parent Rotation

We strongly encourage all parents to help at least once a month on the parent rotation or to help provide any of the option classes to be a part of your child’s spiritual development at ROL. It is especially important to continue to connect with your kids during these critical early youth years.
